Smiths Station is a Lee County bedroom community that grew up along the US-280 and US-431 corridor between Opelika and Phenix City, so most of what we see out here is 1980s-and-newer suburban housing on larger lots. JAPARCO is based across the river in Columbus, which puts us a short drive from the neighborhoods near the Smiths Station Sports Complex and the homes over toward Lake Oliver.
