Smiths Station is a Lee County bedroom community that grew up along the US-280 and US-431 corridor between Opelika and Phenix City, so most of what we see out here is 1980s-and-newer suburban housing on larger lots. JAPARCO is based across the river in Columbus, which puts us a short drive from the neighborhoods near the Smiths Station Sports Complex and the homes over toward Lake Oliver. We cut the bad wood out back to solid material, replace it with the right stock, and prime or seal it so it doesn’t come back at the same spot next year.
