Salem is a rural, unincorporated stretch of Lee County strung along the US-280 and US-431 corridor between Opelika and Phenix City, with homes spread out on acreage down the numbered Lee Roads and out toward the Beauregard community. That means bigger properties, older farmhouses, and outbuildings that need real repair work, not just cosmetic touch-ups. JAPARCO handles drywall, painting, carpentry, tile, flooring, and small electrical and plumbing jobs out here. We are based across the river in Columbus, so even a rural run to Salem is an easy trip for our veteran-owned crew. Licensed in Georgia, insured, working since 2010.
A floor problem is usually a subfloor problem. Gaps between planks, squeaks underfoot, and lifting edges almost always trace back to a base that wasn’t flat, dry, or properly prepped before the flooring went down. We check and correct the subfloor first - leveling low spots, securing loose sheathing, and addressing any moisture - so the finished floor sits flat and stays quiet. In Salem’s older homes and rentals, that groundwork is what separates a floor that holds up from one that starts talking back within a season.
We install luxury vinyl plank, laminate, engineered and solid hardwood, and tile, and we handle repairs when the whole floor doesn’t need to come up. That includes replacing water-damaged or gouged boards, silencing squeaks, re-securing lifting planks, and patching transitions and thresholds between rooms. Transitions and trim are cut and fit clean, not gapped and covered with a wide molding to hide sloppy work. Whether it’s flooring a full house, updating a rental between tenants, or fixing a few bad boards, we measure the space, account for the prep, and give you a free installed estimate before we order material. We move furniture, protect what stays, and haul out the old flooring when we’re done. Straight seams, tight joints, and a floor that’s solid where it counts - under your feet.
